Honey Bee is a collection of acrylic and oil paintings on canvas, stylised found objects and art installations. Here, D’Arcy aims to explore the neurological underpinnings of art perception, whereby deeper messages and understandings come from the initial visual trap of familiarity of image, colour, texture, form and technical complexity. The subject that she uses to underpin this exploration is beauty and the unsettling reality that drives the quest for perfection.
